His- Story
A true essence of a man is measured not solely on his words but always in his actions.
Sydney R. Fulton was born on May 27th, 1928 to Lester Fulton and Olga Grayson in Riverside Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies.
He grew up in Tuckers, St. James, Jamaica and attended Irwin's All Age Boys School.
He married his childhood sweetheart Alma McGhie and they have been together for over 65 years.
Mr. Fulton's first Job was as a "gas Jockey" for Esso stations. From there he worked at the Round Hill Hotel as a bus boy. He loved the hospitality industry and understood the way he made people feel would always have a lasting impression. With this thought process in mind, he earnestly worked for several Hotels on Jamaica's north coast; Silver Sears, Runaway Bay Hotel, Rose - Hall Inter- Continental and Trelawney Beach Hotel as their Food and Beverage Director from which he received several citations.
As the Food and Beverage Director of Trelawney Beach Hotel, he traveled and taught in England, Panama, and Columbia. He migrated to the States in 1980 where he worked for the Reese Corporation as a Restaurant/ Store Manager until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Sydney R. Fulton was a man of not many words. He taught many of us through his actions and smile which spoke volumes. A husband and father, he always made sure his family was provided for. Not once did they be in want of anything.
Today, we mourn his passing but we celebrate his life and cling on to his life teachings.
He is survived by his loving wife Alma, his children: Marcia, Barrington and O' Brian; grandchildren: Omar, Yannick, Barrington Jr., Shaun, Brandon, Britney, Christian, Joshua, and Noah, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, a brother along with a host of in laws and friends.
Bless you Mr. Sydney R. Fulton. We love you. May you rest in eternal peace.
